Portsmouth City Council's cultural services have produced guidelines for residents planning street parties in the city to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, they include advice on:-

1. Insurance
2. Closing your road
3. Publicity
4. In the event of an emergency
5. Use of barbecues
6. Fireworks and bonfires
7. Wet weather
8. Street decorations
9. Intoxicating liquor
10. Fund raising for your street party
11. Noise
12. Litter

The Events Team, (Seafront Services Office, Avenue de Caen, Southsea, PO5 3NS) must receive your application by 9 March at the latest.

Also, for the first 50 applications only, the Council will provide Public Liability Insurance at no cost, so get your applications in quickly!
