Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service are inviting businesses based in Hampshire to the briefing because they want to talk about the proposals that are at the heart of their plans for the next five years. These proposals are designed to make life safer for the communities of Hampshire - including businesses.

The objectives that will directly affect businesses are:

  • how Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service plan to explore innovative projects using sprinkler systems within certain properties to reduce business and community risk;
  • how Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service can actively support your business effectively alongside their statutory regulatory activity. They want to ensure that your business is prepared for emergencies, and have a plan to help recovery following one; and
  • how Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service aim to provide business continuity advice and enable businesses to become key partners in terms of 'Community Resilience' during extreme conditions such as flooding.
They also want to tell you about their spending plans for next year and the effect on Council Tax, and hear your views.

The presentations will be given by Mick Crennell, Area Manager and John Beckerleg, Director of Corporate Services.

There will also be a welcome and an introduction from Chief Officer Bonney and an opportunity to have a tour of the facilities, including meeting their Urban Search and Rescue team and Arson Task Force.

You will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of the Service in an informal, networking session together with other members of the business community and members of the Service and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority.
