Members of the public will be given a rare opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust’s Dermatology Department at a special open day.The event will offer people an insight into what services the department offers as well as take advantage of skin cancer screening facilities and advice on sun protection.
Doctors and nurses will be giving talks about common skin conditions and will be on hand to answer any questions. People will also be able to speak to the various skin condition charities that have been invited to attend.
This is the first open day that the Dermatology Department, which is one of the Trust’s services based at St Mary’s Hospital, has organised and Sam Hunt, Consultant Dermatologist, hopes many people will attend.
She said: “We are delighted to be able to show the Trust’s members the range of services and facilities we can offer patients. Skin care is extremely important, especially in the summer months, so we are hoping many people take the opportunity to come and find out more and speak to one of our team.”
The event will take place on Thursday 16 June from 11.30am until 6pm at the Dermatology Department at St Mary’s Hospital in Milton, Portsmouth.
